My Approach to Therapy

I create a safe, nonjudgmental space for emotionally intense, introverted, and creative clients to express themselves and feel understood. I incorporate art therapy to help clients release emotions non-verbally and explore their feelings creatively. Reflective writing practices, like journaling and poetry, provide a structured way for clients to articulate their thoughts with clarity. Through empathetic conversations, I encourage deep reflection and self-discovery at the client’s pace. My tailored approach highlights each client’s unique strengths, helping them manage emotional intensity and build resilience.

I understand what it’s like to feel deeply, to stand out, and to crave true understanding.

Why I care

My passion for supporting emotionally intense, creative, and misunderstood individuals stems from both my professional and personal journey. As a therapist with extensive experience counseling children, teens, and families facing a range of emotional and behavioral challenges, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is for someone to feel truly seen and heard. After taking time to raise my four children, I returned to my professional field with a renewed understanding of the importance of empathy, patience, and connection.

But beyond my experience as a therapist and parent, I care deeply because I was that teen who didn’t fit the mold. I know what it feels like to be the quiet, creative soul who feels everything intensely and doesn’t always find a place within the typical social circles. I understand the struggles of searching for acceptance and the need to be heard without judgment.

Parenting taught me invaluable lessons that strengthened my ability to relate to clients—lessons about resilience, embracing uniqueness, and the deep need we all have for understanding. I relate to the pre-teen who feels overwhelmed by her emotions, the teenager who turns to art and poetry as an outlet, and the adult woman who’s still seeking understanding after years of feeling different.

I care because I know what it means to need a space where you can be yourself without fear. I’m here to offer that space, where emotions, creativity, and self-expression are met with empathy and support. My goal is to guide clients toward recognizing their strengths and building the confidence to navigate their unique path in life.
